Wyllis Richard Spillars

CMSGT Wyllis Richard Spillars, age 78, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2025.

Wyllis was born on January 11, 1947, in Swannanoa, NC., to the late Willis & Annie Mae Hopson Spillars.

Wyllis enjoyed playing softball, often competing in many USAF softball tournaments. He also enjoyed golfing, working in his yard, and most of all, spending time with his family. He traveled a lot during his career with his late wife, Patricia J. Spillars. Wyllis retired from the USAF after 29 years of service.

Aside from his parents, Willis & Annie, he was preceded by his wife of 49 years, Patricia, his son, Wyllis J. Spillars, and three brothers, Sidney, Bud & Jerry Spillars.

Left to cherish his memory are, his loving daughter, Teresa Ann Garcia, his six grandchildren, Wyllis Landon Spillars, Marisa Ann Smith (Harold), Ismael T. Garcia Jr. (Dorothy), Kyler Gene Spillars, Mason Wyllis Garcia (Josie), and Kara Rose Spillars, two great-grandchildren, Harold D. Atkinson Jr., and Wyllow Grace Spillars, two brothers, Larry Spillars & J.D. Tally, along with several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Wyllis on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lewis Crematory Chapel with Military Honors.
