William Jenkins Obituary

William Paul Jenkins (Bill) of Little River, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2026.

Bill was born in Arlington, Virginia, on May 13, 1956, and graduated from Columbia University in New York City. He spent most of his adult life in the greater Boston area and, prior to moving to Little River, South Carolina, in 2023, he resided in New Hampshire.

Bill enjoyed a successful career as a sales executive with several technology companies, including IBM. His career afforded him the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States and around the world, experiences that became an important part of his life.

Music was a tremendous part of Bill’s life.  Following in his father’s footsteps, who was a well-known musician in the greater New York area, Bill was actively involved in several concert and musical groups throughout the years. Most recently, he shared his love of music as a member of the Myrtle Beach Brass and the Brunswick Big Band of Southport, North Carolina.

Bill was also an avid swing dancer and enjoyed swing dancing for more than 25 years. His passion for dance took him across the United States and internationally, where he attended swing dance events and formed many lasting friendships along the way.

Bill loved being on the water and enjoyed boating wherever life took him. Whether on the coast of New England or in his beloved South Carolina, he found great joy and peace on the water.

Bill was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and love of sharing stories and jokes. His faith was deeply important to him. He was an active member of New Life Community Church in Concord, Massachusetts, until his move to South Carolina. After relocating, he attended NewSpring Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Edward William Jenkins (Eddie), his mother, Taeko Kaneko Jenkins, and his brother, Carl Francis Jenkins.

Bill’s joyful spirit and love of music, dancing, family, and friends will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Jenkins, Cecelia Jenkins, and Elizabeth Jenkins Cruz, and his life partner, Sharon Lambros. He is also survived by two young men, Rob Boutwell (Paula) and Stephen Norberg, who were like sons to him.

Funeral service details will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Jenkins is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 294-0011
