Obituary

William " Bill " Anthony, age 64 of Surfside Beach passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was born November 2, 1955 to the late Walter Augustus Anthony Sr. and the late Joan Jennings Anthony Phillips. 

He graduated from McCormick High School, McCormick SC in 1973 and then furthered his education and attended Erskine College and Western University. 

In his younger years, Bill worked for the City of Greenwood and later worked at Excitement Video, Hot Spot, Red Lobster, and Pirateland Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. 

Bill is survived by his two brothers: Walter A. Anthony Jr. of Gaffney SC., and Wayne Gerald Anthony of Callison, SC., and his two sisters: Beverly (Steve) Anthony Taylor of Greenwood SC., and Doris Anthony of Greenville, SC.  Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of special friends. 

He was predeceased by his Paternal Grandparents: Thomas William and Sally McCarley Anthony of Due West, SC., and his Maternal Grandparents: Albert Wayne and Ethel Canfield Jennings of Donalds, SC.

Bill was the best big brother you could ask for and he will be missed by all who knew him. 

A Memorial service for Bill will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services. 

CDC guidelines will be followed.

Mr. Anthony is entrusted to the care of Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach, SC.
