Virgil Ray Lemaster

Virgil Ray Lemaster, 56, of Brooklyn Park, MD, passed away peacefully at his sister’s home in Myrtle Beach, SC on July 12, 2024, surrounded in love by his family. He was born in Baltimore, MD on April 11, 1968. He was the son of the late Irvin “Teddy” Lemaster and the late Helen (Barnes) Lemaster whom he cherished and adored.  He married his wife, Dawn Marie (Lusby) Lemaster, on November 6, 1993, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Virgil is survived by one son, Matthew Ray Lemaster, and his wife, Natia Lemaster, and one daughter, Megan Marie Woodmancy.

Virgil was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Walker, his brother-in-law, Robert Glodek, his nephew, Gregory Evans, and niece, Amanda Lemaster.

Virgil was survived by four (4) sisters, Della Glodek and her late husband, Robert Glodek; sister, Joan McDonagh and her husband, Kevin; sister, Helen Auld and her husband, Harry; sister, Brenda Foca and her husband Nick.  He was also survived by four (4) brothers, Ervin “Ted” Lemaster and his wife, Melissa; Charles Lemaster and his wife, Suzette; Robert Lemaster and his wife Lisa; and Dave Foster and his wife, Robin. He was also survived by two (2) brothers-in-law, Robert Lusby and his wife, Valerie; Ray Lusby and his wife, Cindy and one (1) sister-in-law, Michele Bees & her husband, Tommy.

Virgil had five (5) grandchildren, Timothy Rinehults, Harleigh Rinehults, Kai Ellam, Kade Ellam, and Allison Rae Lemaster, whom he loved very much.

Virgil had many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Virgil worked at Towson University as a Plumber for the past 16 years. Everyone who knew Virgil would describe him as a kind, gentle man who loved his family more than anything. As his brother Ted said, if you met him once, he never forgot your name or face. He would always talk about his son, Matthew, and his daughter, Megan, and expressed how proud he was of them. 

During his yearlong battle with esophageal cancer, Virgil was able to spend time with his family and friends and made sure that every one of them knew how much he loved them.  Virgil’s sister, Helen Auld, and her husband, Harry Auld, provided him with loving care at their home in Myrtle Beach, SC over the last few weeks of his life, making sure that he was comfortable and that everything he had on his bucket list was fulfilled.  He spent his final days going to the beach, swimming, eating crabs and soft crabs, and taking a golf cart ride.

A Celebration of Life will take place in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday, September 7, 2024. Details are to be provided at a later date.
