Tonya Thielet Obituary

Tonya “Toni” Lee Walter Thielet was born on December 19th 1945 and passed away peacefully on May 13th 2025 at the age of seventy-nine after a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis

Toni grew up in Lower Burrell but lived in Pittsburgh Greater Area and Irwin PA most of her life. She worked at Giant Eagle for over 25 years. Toni loved to cook and share meals with her neighbors. Her favorite activity was watching the Steeler games with her Brother and Sister-in-law Timothy and Laurie Saporito and of course having Sunday dinners with family. She was also a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Parents:  Roy Carl Walter (1984) and Virginia Margaret Anthony (2003), Husband:  Dennis Eugene Thielet (2005) of 39 years, Sister: Rovena “Beannie” Mae Walter Wallace (2020), Sister-in-Law:  Janet Walter (2020), and her Brother-In-Law: Keith Wallace (2001).

She is survived by her siblings: Roy & Dale Walter, Scott and Denise Walter, Three Children: Troy Thielet of Myrtle Beach, SC, Todd and Monique Thielet of St Petersburg FL, Paul and Nikki Thielet of West Mifflin PA,  Seven Grandchildren: Chelsea, Zachary, Kayla, Kylie, Ryan, Alec and Hunter, Two Great-Grandchildren: Gianna and future Great Grandson, Over thirty three Nieces and Nephews that she loved dearly, Tons of cousins from both sides of family that she cherished time with recent comments in her journal how much she missed the family gatherings and picnic’s., Her Brother Scott, his wife Denise and daughter-in-law Lindsay, rallied for her when her health severely declined with helping to move her from PA to SC we as a family are greatly appreciative for their love and kindness.

Special Thank you as well to Aunt Laurie and Uncle Tim for the wellness checks, doctor appointments and cookie baskets they sent her during her hospice transition.

The Thielet Family also extend our deepest gratitude for the Hospice and Private Nursing Agencies that helped with her care.   It truly takes a special breed of person to be in Healthcare.

Mrs. Thielet is entrusted to Kelvin Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home Staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
