Susan Evelyn Otranto

Susan Evelyn Otranto of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family and friends. She was 78 years old.

Susan was born to the late Arthur and Evelyn on December 11, 1945, in Manhattan, NY.

Aside from her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Otranto Sr.

Left to cherish Susan’s memory are, her son, William (Lisa) J. Otranto Jr., daughter, Deborah A. Gray, grandchildren, Jonathan, Malea, Anthony, and Lexis, and her great-grandchildren, Cody, Jonathan, and Bayhlie.

Susan worked for many years at William Floyd School District. She started in the cafeteria, became a hall monitor, and became the coordinator's office secretary.

She loved to garden, travel, and spend her time with family and friends. Her biggest enjoyment was decorating for the holidays and making them festive.

Susan married the love of her life, William, and they had a blessed union of 54 years before his passing. In 2019 she bought her home in Myrtle Beach to begin her new life. She loved everything about being in Myrtle Beach and she made numerous friends quickly. She would spend her days at the gym doing Zumba, going on day trips with her friends, or sitting on her porch waiting for the neighbors to walk by with their fur babies so she could give them some treats.

Although Susan was small in stature, she was larger than life and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Otranto is entrusted to Kelvin Lewis, the Funeral Director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home Staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
