Sherri Roberts Obituary

The moment in time has arrived and the Lewis Crematory Family has been asked to announce to all that as of December 12, 2022, Mrs. Sherri Lyn Roberts of Myrtle Beach, SC has permanently changed her address to 777 Highway 7, in that beautiful city called Heaven.

Sherri “Bear” Roberts, 53, of Myrtle Beach, SC lost her six-month health battle following a kidney transplant suddenly on December 12, 2022.   Sherri leaves a massive hole in the hearts of her family and friends who all miss her smile, sarcasm, and ability to pull off the best pranks.   Sherri wouldn’t just give the shirt off her back to anyone, she’d pull an armload out of her closet to give them

Sherri was born on August 6, 1969, to Yvonne Viselli Roberts and the late Merrell Roberts in Elmira, New York.

She loved sports, playing baseball and then softball throughout her childhood.  As an adult, she proudly played Women’s Professional Football for two teams, the Sacramento Sirens and the Connecticut Cyclones.   She was an avid long-time fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sherri worked most of her adult life as a Custom Framer at Michael’s and Joann’s.  She loved meeting artists and working with them to find the best mat and frame combination to show off their masterpieces.  She often brought home pictures of her completed projects to show off the artistry, both the artist's and hers.

Sherri’s world revolved around her girls, her twins Zaine and Marley.   We know she will be watching over them and cheering them on throughout their lives, she lived for their successes and loved coaching their teams in softball and basketball.  Sherri had a soft spot for children, especially her nephews and niece, Alexander, Cristian, Jacob, Kody, Joseph, Gianna, and Crew.

Sherri is survived by her wife of 16 years, Meghan (Poole), and her children Zaine Virginia and Marley Merrell of Myrtle Beach, SC.  She is also survived by her mother Yvonne Roberts (Viselli) of Southport, NY, her brothers Merrell Roberts II (Joseph) of Beacon Falls, CT, and Randy Roberts (Jessica) of Elmira, NY, and her nephews and niece.  Sherri is also survived by her Great Aunt “Nana” (Virginia Connelly), Aunts Linda (Jerry Patchen), Diane (Thomas Smith), Ginney (Ron Strope), Barbara Roberts, Martha (Kenneth Stiles), Mary Chilson, and a host of amazing cousins- all of whom she treasured. She is further survived by her mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Bruce Poole, and sister-in-law Courtney (Kenneth) Hamilton all of Murrells Inlet, SC.

Sherri’s battle is over now, she is up in Heaven playing Scat and Uno and laughing with her father Merrell Gordon Roberts, her uncles Fred Roberts and Wynn Chilson, her grandparents Gordon and Beatrice Roberts, and Joseph, June and Frances Viselli and great-grandparents.   Sherri is also predeceased by a nephew, Samuel.

A celebration of Sherri will be held in 2023 in New York, more information will be forthcoming and her ashes will be buried in Wellsburg, New York.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to cover her daughters’ needs through their Go Fund Me: https://gofund.me/7adbd297

Mrs. Roberts is entrusted to the care of Kelvin F. Lewis, Funeral Director, and Lewis Crematory & Funeral Services of Myrtle Beach, SC.
