Sarah Elizabeth Collis

Sarah Elizabeth Collis, 86, better known as Sally, of Supply, North Carolina passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 31, 2022. Sally was born on April 21, 1936, in Washington, DC, to the late Richard Everett and Eleanor (Schoonmaker) Everett.

From humble beginnings, Sally spent many years of her life working in the restaurant business. But most of all, Sally will be remembered for her genuine care for others and willingness to help others even if it meant her doing without. Sally was instrumental in helping to raise many kids through her daycare on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Sally had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She will be woefully missed by her beloved family, friends, and all those who that considered her “mom”, “grandma” or “granny”.

Sally was proceeded in death by her parents; husband of almost 50 years Preston Vernon Collis; Son-In-Law Tim Miller; grandsons Alejandro Crespo and Tim Miller Jr. In addition, her siblings Richard Everett, Eleanor Shifflet and Pat Watkins.

Sally is survived by her long-time companion Kenneth White; her children Sylvia Crespo (David) of Cochabamba, Boliva, Jamie Torrico (AnnaMarie) of Silver Springs, Maryland, Diane Gunnell (Shane) of Montross, Virginia, Jenny Miller of Shallotte, North Carolina, Carol McCarter (Marty) of Lusby, Maryland, Joseph Collis (Angela) of Richlands, North Carolina, Preston Collis (Jerri) of Supply, North Carolina, Gregory Jackson of Washington, DC,  Shirley Tyson (Alan) of Great Falls, Virginia; 34 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; her sibling Donna Smith of Alexandria, Virginia; Sister-In-Law Rose Everett of Conway, South Carolina.

Memorial service to be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:00 AM at River of Life Baptist Church, 8411 Ocean Hwy West, Sunset Beach, NC 28468.
