Robert J. Martin, "Bob" age 93, of Surfside Beach, SC originally of Carmel, NY and Yonkers, NY passed away on Saturday, July 20,2024

Robert J. Martin passed away on Saturday July 20, 2024. He was born in 1930 to the late Joseph and Hazel Martin and grew up in Sacred Heart Parish in Yonkers. NY. Bob was predeceased by the love of his life Anne Martin of Surfside Beach, SC on Dec 21, 1994.

Robert graduated from Gorton High School in 1948. Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 and was honorably discharged after 4 years of service in the Korean War as a Sr. Cryptographer or "Codebreaker" in various posts in the United States, Africa and Germany. Robert was a Union Steamfitter with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 21 out of Peekskill, NY for 25 years before retiring in 1992. Bob had the great Distinction of having achieved 2 "Holes in one" during his many years playing the game of Golf that he so much enjoyed. He previously had his own Insurance Business, was a Bank Teller and worked at Yonkers Raceway.

Robert was a a charter member of the 140 Club in Northwest Yonkers; a member of VFW Post #10420; a member of the American Legion Post 178 as well as previously being a member of the Murrells Inlet Elk Lodge 2797.

Mr. Martin is survived by his Loving Family: His Sister Mary Osborn of York, PA; His Son Michael Martin of Los Angeles California; his Daughter Maryanne Martin-Chapman and her husband Billy Chapman of Surfside Beach SC, and his 3 Grandchildren Loyal Martin, Luc Martin and Hayden Chapman whom he loved more than anyone. He is also survived by various nieces and nephews along with his wonderful friends.

Mr. Martin's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 26, 2024. at 10:00 a.m.

There will be a visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Martin family.

In Lieu of flowers donations to St Jude's Children's Hospital can be made in Mr. Martin's name.
