Robert Marvin Lee Cagle, Jr, of Saint Helena Island, SC, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Florence, SC, a month from his birthday. He was 65.
Bobby was born April 13, 1961, in Shreveport, LA, to the late Robert Cagle, Sr., and Sara Ella Bolen Cagle. He grew up and attended Wilson High School in Florence. Bobby left home at an early age to join the traveling carnival, a dream of his that lasted a lifetime. He traveled the country, making people’s lives happier, or perhaps, at the carnival, occasionally sad. A friend to many, Bobby was a funny and entertaining guy. He enjoyed playing his guitar and spending time with friends and family. A difficult childhood led to an independent man who strived to take care of himself and others. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by one Brother, Skirling Cagle (Sonny) of Randleman, NC, several cousins, and numerous friends.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date, and until then, raise a cup in memory of Bobby.
Mr. Cagle is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 294-0011.
