Richard Joseph Heisler

Richard Joseph Heisler (Rick), a beloved son, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away and returned home on January 15, 2025. Rick cherished his retirement home in Myrtle Beach, where he enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his two dogs, Raider and Nummie. He loved the beach and any place close to the water. As a lifelong Giants fan, he enjoyed watching football with friends and family. Rick had a charitable heart and grew spiritually as he aged.Many times he extended help to a friend, family member, or a stranger in need.

An auto enthusiast, Rick was excited to restore his 1994 GT convertible Mustang to leave to his grandson. He began his career by operating his own auto mechanic business in Manassas, Virginia. Later, he worked for various car dealerships in Northern Virginia before spending the last 15 years as an over-the-road truck driver.

Rick is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Watts Heisler; his brother, Daniel Joseph Heisler; his father, Joseph Francis Heisler; and his sister-in-law, Jeannie Michelle (Ronan) Heisler.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Theresa Heisler (Keough); his daughter, Christine Marie (Heisler) Carter, his grandchildren, Cayden Carter and Addyson Carter; and his siblings, William Joseph (Jeannie), Joseph Francis Jr. (Marirene), Patricia H. Delano (Greg), and Thomas Michael Heisler (Kamini). Rick also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, and cousins.  Celebration of life to be announced.
