Richard Lee Crout (Decm), entered into eternal rest after a valiant battle with cancer on January 17, 2024. He is free and now has a new body in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Cancer did not win. Born on November 28, 1971, in Hershey, PA. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Jeanette G. Webber (Tasha) and Jimmy L. He is survived by a daughter Kirsten Lee Crout, of Murrells Inlet, SC, loving fiancé Amanda Denning of Conway, SC, and son-at-heart Hayes Denning, Surfside Beach, SC., and a dear friend Herby Denning, whom Richard called Pop Pop. Richard is survived by siblings Jimmy L. Crout, Joplin, MO, Cynthia A. (Charles) Seidel, Savannah, GA, Corey A. Crout (Tammy), Palmyra, PA, Amy L.  Richard grew up in Hershey, PA, a graduate of the Milton Hershey School in 1990, Richard was a basketball star, and he was voted by his classmates as their class clown. He was hilariously funny and just wanted to make everyone smile and laugh. Richard moved to Myrtle Beach, SC shortly after his graduation. In his early days in Myrtle Beach, Richard (Decm) was a member of a popular local band “Uptown Posse,” where they opened for famous artists such as C&C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice, and Candyman to name a few. Richard (Decm) went on to host “Grand Strand Bandstand” in the mid-1990s. Richard loved the art of beatboxing and organized many events to promote that art including “Beatbox Battle to Beat Cancer” in honor of his mom who passed from breast cancer in 2011, followed by “Beatbox Battle 2 Beat Bullies,” hosting various assemblies in schools to promote anti-bullying.

Richard was a DJ and wedding officiant in the Myrtle Beach area for many years, he was the life of every party. Richard adored all animals and until he couldn’t drive anymore, went on adventures all over the country called “puppy shipping” where he would deliver fur babies to their forever homes.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 2:00 until 6:00 PM, at Wildhorse at Parker Farms. 595 Parker Dr, Longs, SC 29568.

His legacy will live on through our wonderful memories, stories of laughter, and his incredible faith.

“Death where is your victory? Death where is your sting? Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 15:54-57
