Ralph Engle Burney, 83, of Clarkton (Bladen County) went home peacefully with the Lord on Monday, November 2, 2020
at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jeanette S. Burney; Parents - the late John Dexter Burney,
and Lilla V. Tilly; One sister Eva Marie Burney Hanvey.
He is survived by one brother Carlton H. Burney(Martha) of Virginia.
His children Wanda Hope of Clarkton; Robert Earl (Becky) of Ohio; Sharon Ann of Whiteville; James Eager (Jimmy) of Elizabethtown;
Janice Faye Widenor of Virginia; Joyce Marietta of the Home. Two Grandchildren William James Widenor of the Home; Virginia Robin
Burney (Strider) of Virginia , along with several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was a devoted family man and Christian who put his faith in Jesus Christ. He believed in the Church and the community. He was
a hard worker and mot knowledgeable person one could ever meet. He could make something from nothing. He was truly an engineer
and inventor. He worked in Construction, Plumbing and Pipefitting, and Truck Driver. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially driving his
tractor "Fluffy". He would offer words of wisdom to anyone who would listen. He knew just about everyone in the county. He currently
has everything he ever owned. He had a saying. "All it takes is a little common sense. It goes a long way."
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at White Plains Presbyterian Church, Council, NC
with Pastor, Chris Carlisle, Officiating.
A Graveside service will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Reception will be held at the home with family and friends.
Memorials can be given to White Plains Presbyterian Church, Davita of Elizabethtown, Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
Mr. Burney is entrusted to the care of Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach, SC.
