Patricia Wasmund

Patricia O. Wasmund, 80, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday morning, August 31, 2019 after a brief hospital stay. She was surrounded by her loving children.

Pat was born on December 12,1938 in Peekskill, N.Y. She grew up in Teaneck, N.J. She married the love of her life, Richard Allen Wasmund on September 11, 1960. They had 3 children together. After his untimely death, Patricia raised her three children alone,  making a living as a medical transcriptionist. 

Pat will be remembered for her quick wit, sarcastic humor and generous spirit. She loved a good game of Scrabble or Boggle. People across the country still rave about her famous Spaghetti and meatballs, cheesecake, Sauerbraten, chocolate crinkle and carrot cookies. She loved to watch a storm roll in, especially over the ocean. She loved growing flowers. And beach combing for seashells was one of her favorite activities. 

In recent years, as her health began to decline, she enjoyed viewing the many birds that would visit her feeders. She religiously watched Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and CBS Sunday Morning. 

Her final wishes were to leave the hospital, go home, be relieved of pain and taste some Pepsi. Thanks to hospice and her children all of these wishes came true.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Richard Allen Wasmund.

She is survived by her eldest child, Karen Patricia Wasmund Bieger. Her son-in-law Michael Gerard Bieger. 

Her son, Keith Richard Wasmund. Her youngest child, Elizabeth Ann Wasmund. Her four grandchildren, Patrick Michael Bieger his wife Dani Bieger, Kerianne Elizabeth Bieger, Erin Colleen Bieger and Hazel Arlene Steele Wasmund.

A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Wasmund is entrusted to the care of Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services, Myrtle Beach, SC.
