Michael James Meadows , age 77, Beloved husband,father and Peepaw ,born 2/11/48 passed away peacefully at his home from a short battle with cancer on March 23rd 2025 . He lived in Myrtle Beach for 42 years , member of Socastee Baptist Church for over 20 years . He served his country in the Army with the CompanyD, seventh Battalion second Brigade 1967 for 4 years and held a Law Enforcement job in the town of Athens and Matoaka ,Wv for several years , and worked for the Board of Education in Mercer county. He built his own business in Myrtle Beach, “Meadows Lawn and Home service ”. He loved God, his family ,his country and loved his Guns and to Deer and turkey hunt. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
He was born in Pettrey, West Virginia to James and Brookie Meadows . He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 37 years , Carol from Washington DC. He is survived by his brother , Gerald and wife Connie of Matoaka and, sister Lynnis and, her husband Frank of Speedway. Daughter Melinda “Dawn “and husband Mike Severt ,son Michael James Jr “Bull” and Late wife Kate, son Carl and wife Heather and daughter Kathy And husband Tim Hatfield all from Pettrey West Virginia . Grandchildren Sean and wife Casey Severt , Haley and husband Joe Higgins , Kiara and Preslee Meadows and Bryson Hagerman ,Laykn and Dylan Hatfield and Samantha and Joshua Meadows and great granddaughter Ireland Grace Severt . Niece Terri Martin and nephews Adam Hill, Jonathon and, Joe Meadows . Step Children Michael and wife Amy Stinnett of Kentucky, Late Mark Stinnett,Tracie and husband Chris Saffles of Loris and Tony and Megan Magnum of South Carolina and, grandchildren Rylie Saffles and 4 Others .
A small Service will be held at the Socastee Baptist Church on May 17th, 2025 from 11 am -12 pm with a celebration of life being held at The Sun Up starting at 2 pm after the service. The Family will be having a celebration of life in Pettrey, West Virginia June 22nd at 2 pm at the Meadows Family Cemetery.
