Lydia Amigó-Spaulding, age 90 of North Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Grand Strand Medical Center. She was born on August 03, 1935, in Havana, Cuba.
Miss Lydia worked for the Federal Government as an EEOC Investigator. Miss Lydia's hobbies were painting and collecting antiques. She enjoyed traveling around the world. She escaped from her home country, and her first destination was Argentina. Eventually, she and her husband, John Spaulding, came to live in North Myrtle Beach.
Miss Lydia enjoyed frequent visits from her family and neighbors and loved to sit and watch birds in her yard. She loved to listen to Andrea Bocelli, André Rieu, and other classical musicians.
In addition to her husband, John Spaulding, and her parents, Isidro Amigó and Georgina Amigó, she was predeceased by her Brothers, Dr. Isidro J. Amigó (Kathy) and Jorge Amigó (Hattie), and her aunt Berta Del Portillo.
She is survived by nieces and nephews: Maria Amigo, Amanda (Kyle Kogler) and their son Aidan; Dr. Isidro A. Amigó (Debbie) and their children, Elisa, Braeden, and Cameron.; Dr. Emilio Amigó (Doug) and their children, Ashly, Austin, and Megan;
Dr. Roger Amigó (Tasha) and their children, Dr. Morgan Amigó, Bronson, and Brielle. And many great, great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Ruth Sawyer, Rebeca Obando, and Cristina Rodríguez for their wonderful care and support of Lydia.
A Memorial Mass will be held on January 24, 2026, at 11:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 1100 8th Ave. North Myrtle Beach.
