Lorna “Camille” Dyer Howell fell asleep in death on December 16, 2024, at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC after a short illness.
Camille was born February 21, 1958, in Jackson, TN. She was educated in Madison County Schools. She spent her early years working for Walmart. In the early 1980’s she transferred to Walmart in Lebanon, TN. She worked for Walmart for more than 20 years. She was next employed by Publix in Lebanon, TN. She eventually transferred to Publix in Myrtle Beach, SC where she could be close to the ocean. She retired from Publix in 2019.
She is survived by a son, John “Jason” Dyer – Lebanon, TN; and a sister Brenda Dyer Kellow (Bedford) of Lebanon, TN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Elbert and Alma Frances Grissom Dyer of Jackson, TN; sister Glenda Claudette Dyer Adkins; and brother Carl Michael Dyer.
After a thorough study of the scriptures, Camille was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses on August 5, 2023. She was very active in the Christian ministry and enjoyed telling others about her hope for the future resurrection. She always talked about wanting to take care of the animals in perfect secure conditions right here on a paradise earth.
Everyone who knew Camille instantly loved her because she was so outgoing, kind, and generous. She had numerous pets through the years. Her most recent was her beloved Connie; whom she adopted December 2023. She loved her flowers and watching old black and white movies – especially comedies.
