It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Letitia Gerould Pine, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 85.
Letitia was born on January 21, 1940, in Troy, PA to the late Hubert and Elsie Gerould. She graduated from Troy High School, married her high school sweetheart, raised her children, and babysat for many families there. Letitia worked in the school cafeteria for many years and enjoyed playing Scrabble with friends, camping, and riding motorcycles with her husband.
She lived in Troy until 2005 when she and her husband of 55 years, Ronald E. Pine, moved to Waverly NY. In 2020, Letitia moved to South Carolina with her daughter, Sherry, and her family.
Letitia was predeceased by her husband, and love of her life since age 13 (Ronald E. Pine), her parents (Hubert and Elsie Gerould), and her grandson, SPC Ryan P. Jayne (KIA Afghanistan).
She was a devoted and caring mother to three children: Kathleen (Fred) Close of Troy, PA, Thomas (Penny) Pine of Columbia Cross Rds, PA, and Sherry (Kent) Skeens of Conway, SC.
Letitia was an amazing grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Erin (James) Harder, Kyle (Becky) Morris, Ciara Pine, Caelyn Pine, Ryan Jayne, Adam Jayne, Jacob Skeens, Trent Skeens, Garrett Skeens, Zoe Skeens, two step-grandchildren: Derik Close, Emily James; and 7 great-grandchildren who thought the world of their Gramma Pine: Lexi, Lilah, and Luke Shannon; Summer and Jason Morris; along with Maddy and Cora Jayne. She is survived by her brother, Ronald (Suzanne) Gerould, in Canton PA.
Abiding with the family's wishes, a private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Those who wish may kindly consider a memorial contribution to a charity of their choice in the loving memory of Letitia G. Pine.
Rest in Peace, dear Mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
