Justin Baker Obituary

Justin Raymer Baker is at rest, after a long battle with Friedreich's ataxia. His disability did not diminish his love for sports and athletics.

Justin took up hand crank bike racing and participated in many races, including in Central Park in New York, Baltimore, and right here in Myrtle Beach. He enjoyed working and was a part of the Better Brands family in Myrtle Beach.

Justin was a graduate of Coastal Carolina University. He enjoyed watching sports and could tell you the backgrounds and statistics of a remarkable number of athletes. He enjoyed going to Coastal Carolina football and baseball games on campus. Whenever possible, he loved attending University of South Carolina football games as well.

Justin had a great love for satire and comedy, especially TV shows like South Park and Seinfeld. Although Friedreich's ataxia grew to affect his body, it did not affect his wit. He had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor. He loved to laugh, and his infectious laugh will be missed.

Justin is survived by his mother, Peggy McKeever, and his brother, Casey, Casey’s wife Eunjung, his nephew Sean and niece Lia. Justin contributed monthly to the World Central Kitchen. In place of flowers, donations could be sent to the World Central Kitchen (https://wck.org), Achilles International (https://www.achillesinternational.org), or the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (https://www.usopc.org).

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Lewis Crematory and Funeral Services in Myrtle Beach.
