Julie Anne Fergus, 59, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, November 6, 2023. She battled breast cancer for a long 8 years; she was a fierce warrior. Julie was the epitome of strength, you would never know her battles just by looking at her. She carried herself with her shoulders back and head held high. She fought all the way to the end. Julie never questioned her battle, all she wanted to know was what we needed to do. She was an avid fan and supporter of our local Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. “Jules”, as so many loved ones referred to her, loved her family and friends fiercely and never met a stranger. She was known for her charitable work throughout the Grand Strand as well as being a small business owner alongside her husband of 33 years, Danny Fergus. Her generosity, strong personality, carefree mentality, and continuous laughter were truly contagious.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.
Julie is survived by her husband, Danny Fergus, her daughters, Noel (Chris) Banghart, and Hayley (Mason Wilcoxen) Fergus, her grandchildren, Annabelle and Breckin Banghart, her brothers, John Wolford, Charles Wolford, and Jeff Wolford.
There will not be a traditional funeral held. The family will be organizing a Celebration of Life, and the details will be shared when finalized. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to make donations to Meals on Wheels of Horry & Georgetown County.
