John Edward Redden Jr, age 71 passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11th, 2024, after suffering from a heart attack at his Myrtle Beach home on July 4th, 2024.
John was born on August 25th, 1952, in Staten Island, NY to Gladys and John Redden Sr.
After being turned down three times by her, he finally married his loving wife Diane on July 15th, 1978. They bought a house in Dunellen, NJ, and had four children. They moved to Jackson, NJ where they raised their children before moving to Myrtle Beach, SC.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Diane (Green) of 45 years. He took pride in teaching their children and playing with their grandchildren. John is survived by his eldest daughter Tiffany, her partner, Anthony, and their daughters Dakota, and Charlotte. Second eldest John Edward the 3rd and his son, Lucas. Third born, Joshua, his partner, Alicia, and their son Jeremy, and youngest son Travis and his wife Michelle and son Hunter. John is also survived by his three sisters, Maureen Chism and her husband Jim from NC. Sue Indico and her husband Joe, and his sister Wendy Redden Dipaolo and their families from NJ.
John was free-spirited and did things his own way. He was a master electrician by trade but loved fishing, sailing, and the ocean. In his younger years he sailed from NY to Spain, then to Bermuda and ended in NY. John took his children on many fishing adventures and taught them to “keep bouncing them sinkers boys!” In hopes of catching a giant fluke.
“Johnny Boy”, as his mother called him, will be remembered with all the loving memories and fun times everyone had with him. His wife and children were able to say their goodbyes prior to his passing. May he find peace with our heavenly father, as we find comfort in these memories. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Funeral services are private.
Mr. Redden is entrusted to the care of Kelvin F. Lewis, Funeral Director, and Lewis Crematory & Funeral Service Staff. (843) 294-0011
