Joann Foster

Murrells Inlet, South Carolina- Joann Florance Foster age 77 formerly of Lake Ronkonkoma, New York passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, with family by her side. 

Born in Manhattan, New York, she was the daughter of the late Al and Eileen DiPersio. 

Joann’s first job was as a nurse's aide. She then worked for Kirby Vacuums and Copper Craft. She retired years after becoming a successful boat salesperson at Surfside 3 Marina in Lyndenhurst, NY. Joann was ambitious and always advanced to become a top seller in her field. She enjoyed crabbing, fishing, boating, golfing, traveling, and fine dining. 

She was preceded in death by her 3 siblings; a brother, Robert DiPersio, and 2 sisters, Denise DiPersio, and Gail Policastro. 

Survivors include her sister, Kim DiPersio of Myrtle Beach, her dedicated and loving husband for 59 years, Thomas Foster of Murrells Inlet, and her three daughters; Denise Taddonio of East Northport, NY, Tammy Heraghty of Holtsville, NY, and Debbie Bonham of Pawleys Island, SC. Grandchildren include Andrew Heraghty and Cameron Bonham. Joann enjoyed her grandsons immensely. Her love for them was strong and deep. Her family will greatly miss her. 

No service will be held at Joann’s request.    

Mrs. Foster is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
