JoAnne Nagy Obituary

JoAnne Nagy of Myrtle Beach, SC, was called to be with God and reunited with her family in Heaven on May 17, 2025.

The last words spoken by JoAnne were to her daughter: "I love you more."

Originally from Morgantown, WV, JoAnne was born on January 26, 1958, to the late Joseph William Nagy and Nina Saffron Haines.

JoAnne spent much of her life making others happy by way of service and baked goods. Affectionately known as "Sparky," her goal was simply to create the best memories for the "kids" in her family and community. JoAnne made a name for herself in this life with her acts of kindness and compassion. She was selfless and service-driven, and consistently displayed acceptance and generosity, sometimes to a fault. JoAnne was funny, humble, and giving, and she was always willing to lend a hand, even if her hands were already full.

While she baked to bring others joy, what brought her the most joy was her family. There was nothing more important to her than being a dependable and loving mother, gramma, cousin, and aunt. When she was able to let her hair down, JoAnne enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool, bowling, Bingo, and gardening.

JoAnne was preceded in death by her siblings Toni Moore, Mary Jane O'Neal, Joe Nagy, and John Cathreno. She is survived by her daughter Rikki Woodall and son-in-law, Michael Jacoby of Myrtle Beach, SC, Richard Woodall of Conway, SC, and her grandchildren, Ashley Woodall of Baltimore, MD, and Allen Woodall of Severn, MD. She had the joy of being embraced by her bonus siblings, Paul Twist, Colleen Carver, and Barbara Golden, all of whom survive her as well. She also leaves behind Aunt Mary Jane Lawson and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with a church family and a very large vegetable garden.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Mount Morris Tabernacle Church, 103 School Road, Mount Morris, Pennsylvania 15349.

Mrs. Nagy is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
