Jayden Whitaker Obituary

Jayden Lashon Whitaker (Jdot) left this earthly home peacefully while enjoying a vacation with his family on Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Myrtle Beach, SC.  Jayden was born in Greenville, North Carolina on October 4, 2006, to James Earl Whitaker and the (late) Jennifer Nicole Blake.  Jayden's current home was Ayden, North Carolina.  He was a former D. H. Conley High School, Greenville, NC student.

Jayden will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. His young son of 2 months, Ky'Ren Jerrod Brown; the mother of his son-Ja'shawna Brown; father James Whitaker of Kinston; sisters-Dezhanae Whitaker of Ayden; Layonee Whitaker of Grimesland; brothers-Quendall Whitaker, Jerell Harber both of Greenville, NC; and Lindsay Brown of Ayden, NC;

Maternal Grandparents, Ricky and Connie Blake, and Susan Bond all of Grimesland.  Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, great, great-great, and great-great-great aunts and uncles.

Predeceased in death by a loving and devoted mother in April 2023, Jennifer Nicole Blake. Paternal Grandparents, David Lee and Sarah Pittman Brown.

Jayden was a loving and devoted father to his young son Ky’Ren.  Becoming a father was his greatest achievement in his short time here on earth.  Jayden was an all-around athlete, he could always be found on any athletic field, basefield, flag football, football, basketball you name it, Jayden was there.  Video games played a big role in Jayden’s life as he grew older.  He could often be found playing well into the night.  His face knew no frown; as he always wore the biggest smile.  We will always carry Jayden in our hearts.  We hope you all will continue to share stories to keep Jayden’s memory alive.  We want everyone to know Jayden’s legacy will continue to live on, as a family we decided to partner with Sharing The Gift of Life.  Jayden has become an organ donor and will bless many lives through his gifts.

The family will announce a Celebration of Life in Greenville, at a later date for Jayden.

The family has requested in place of flowers, donations be made directly to the Funeral Home to assist with the cost of services are greatly appreciated.

Jayden is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, Funeral Director, and Lewis Crematory & Funeral Service Staff.
