James William Petula, formerly of Yonkers, NY and current resident for the past 14 years of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away peacefully on his 73rd birthday, November 21, 2024. Born on November 21, 1951 in Yonkers, NY to the late Andrew and Grace (Wells) Petula, Jimmy was a beloved Father, loving Grandfather "GP," loyal Brother and devoted Friend.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters; Patti Castellano, Athena Giannasca (Richie) and Maria Kahn (James). His grand children; Savanna and Tiffany Castellano, Richie and Alyssa Giannasca, Leland and Kaylee Kahn. His brother George Petula (predeceased by Irene) and sister Patricia Pellman (Howard) as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
After graduating from Saunders High School, Jimmy worked as a heavy machine operator for 40 years for ConEdison where he retired in 2010 and moved to sunny Myrtle Beach. Jimmy was an avid golfer, a lover of riding his Harley Davidson and a sports enthusiast especially devoted to the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Laker and the Pittsburg Pirates. Jimmy was a lover of music and attended hundreds of concerts over the years. His love of travel was detailed by his impressive collection of Hard Rock Cafe pins. Jimmy mostly enjoyed spending quality time with his daughters and grandchildren.
Jimmy's loving commitment to his loved ones will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. His legacy of love, hardwork, and devotion to family will continue to live on through all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on November 25, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at Lewis Crematory and Funeral Home of Myrtle Beach, SC.
