Helen Mary Markwell, 72, passed away peacefully at her home.
Born on March 10, 1954, in Newton, New Jersey, Helen was the beloved daughter of Donald and Vivian Vealey. She lived a life defined by kindness, compassion, and a genuine love for her family, friends, animals, and the outdoors. Her gentle spirit and caring heart touched the lives of all who knew her.
Helen dedicated many years of faithful service to the United States Postal Service before retiring in 2025. In her retirement, she found great joy in caring for her horses and cats, tending to her garden, and spending time surrounded by the beauty of nature. She appreciated life's simple pleasures and created lasting memories with those she loved.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Amber(Bill); her sons, Christopher and Eric (Madelyn); and her beloved grandchildren, Shane, Emery, Brayleigh, Avery, Emma, Christian, and Camden.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Vivian Vealey, and several siblings.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held at Nebo Baptist Church, 6411 Highway 908, Gresham, SC 29546, on July 28 at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to honor and remember a life well lived.
Helen will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her love of family, her devotion to her animals, and the many lives she touched with her generosity and gentle heart. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
