Everett Courtright Obituary

Everett Neil Courtright

February 8, 1939 – August 19, 2026

Everett Neil Courtright, known throughout his life as Neil, passed away on August 19, 2026, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was 87.

Neil was born on February 8, 1939, in Perkins, Oklahoma, to Theodore Floris Courtright and Vera Faye Cole. In 1941, the Courtright family left Oklahoma and moved west to Vallejo, California, where Neil would spend his formative years.

In 1959, Neil married Frances Mary Boyle. Their marriage lasted more than six decades, until her death in 2021. Together, Neil and Frances raised three sons: Glen Neil, Robert Gordon, and Brian Kelly.

Neil began his working life as a stock clerk for J.J. Newberry in Vallejo. From there, he built a career through hard work, ambition, and a willingness to take on greater responsibility. He rose steadily through the organization and eventually became Vice President of Administration with McCrory.

In 1996, Neil and Frances started a new chapter together by founding Nefra Communications Center in York. Neil built and operated the business for 25 years before retiring in 2021.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Mary Courtright; his parents, Theodore Floris and Vera Faye Courtright; and his brother, Freddie Dare Courtright, who died in infancy.

Neil is survived by his older brother, Larry Buck Courtright; his three sons and their wives, Glen and Sarah Courtright, Robert and Karen Courtright, and Brian and Elizabeth Courtright; his grandchildren, Erica Noel Taffany, Lydia Grace Courtright, Joseph Robert Courtright, Christian Anthony Courtright, Eugene Michael Courtright, Kristiana Angelique Carbonneau, and Orin Wyatt Courtright; and his great-grandchildren, Bernadette “Birdie” Soleil Taffany, Miles Leonardo Taffany, Emmett Louis Carbonneau, Sutton Knox Carbonneau, and Micah Asher Courtright.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Valley View Alliance Church, 200 Alliance Ave., Hellam, PA 17406.

Those who knew Neil are encouraged to come not only to mourn his passing, but to remember the life he lived. Please bring your favorite Neil story and help us celebrate him the way he would have appreciated most: together.
