Edward J Pelton Sr. 79, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered Heaven’s Gate alongside his family on December 31, 2024.
Born on February 25, 1945, in New Haven, Connecticut, Edward spent his early years, in Southington & Waterbury, CT. He is known for his dedication and hard work always helping friends and neighbors working on their cars. He always had a project he was working on. Edward enjoyed a fulfilling career as a truck driver for 50 years, allowing him to meet people from all walks of life.
In his later years, Edward and his family relocated to South Carolina, where he worked, found a community, and became a devoted member of Kingdom Harvest Church in Myrtle Beach. There, he not only found spiritual fulfillment but also strengthened the bonds with his loved ones, attending services weekly with his entire family.
Edward’s greatest joy came from being with his family & his pets. He will always be remembered for his unwavering love, devotion, and the countless ways he ensured they were cared for. Above all, he cherished the simple moments spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. One of his favorite newest pastimes was fishing with his great-grandchildren, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.
He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Pauline, and their children, Patricia Creel (Scott) who remain close to Conway, SC, Pamela Benson of Conway, SC, Edward Jr of Waterbury, CT and Eric of Waterbury, CT; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His brother Robert Pelton (Joyce) of Surfside Beach, SC. He is also survived by many friends and extended family including Ricky Martin and his wife Pricilla and Pastor Willie Pennington and his wife Wanda. Edward was predeceased by his siblings George Pelton and Jean Fletcher.
He was a man of great character, whose legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to honor Edward’s legacy privately at Kingdom Harvest Church at a later time at the family's convenience.
Mr. Pelton is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home Staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
