Myrtle Beach, SC– Dereck Justin Lee, age 48, passed away on April 8, 2026, after a short illness.

Born on August 12, 1977, in Fairfax, Virginia. Dereck was known for his love of Washington Redskins football and his ability to make friends anywhere he went. He was a beloved brother, son, husband, and father who will be deeply missed.

Dereck is survived by his wife, Sarah Lee, son, August Lee, sisters Dawn Back and Vickie Mattingly, niece Brandi Back, and nephews Desmond Mattingly and Donovan Mattingly. He was preceded in death by his parents Desmond and Brenda Lee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All for Paws Animal Rescue in his honor.
