David William Fitzhugh, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest William Fitzhugh and Santa Pretencia Burgos Fitzhugh, as well as his beloved son, David William Fitzhugh Jr.
He is survived by his partner, Deborah Greenfelder of Dillon, SC; his son, David Michael Fitzhugh; daughter-in-law, Pamela Fitzhugh; and cherished granddaughter, McKenna Fitzhugh, all of Pasadena, MD.
A lifelong resident of Baltimore, Dave recently retired and relocated to Dillon, South Carolina, in June. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery.
Dave had a passion for working on fixer-upper projects, particularly boats, and found joy in simple pleasures. He was a kind-hearted, humble man who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be held in Baltimore in the coming days.
Mr. Fitzhugh is entrusted to Kelvin F. Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC. (843) 294-0011
