Charlene Maria Strong

Mrs. Charlene Maria Strong, age 75, passed away on August 16, 2024, at MUSC Medical Center in Florence, SC.

Charlene was born to the late Fred William Phillips and Bobbie Lou Williams on September 20, 1948, in Charleston, SC.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Charlene married Dean Strong, and they had a blessed union of 33 years (plus 9 years before their marriage) until his passing in 2008.

Aside from her husband and her parents, Charlene was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Bishop, Janice Crow, and Patricia Pennington.

Left to cherish Charlene's memory are, her sister, Juanita (Larry) Phelps, brother, Harlan (Pam) Cook, her feline companion, JoJo, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She loved her family and friends and would give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it.

Mrs. Strong is entrusted to Kelvin Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
