Chad Michael Hansen

Chad Michael Hansen, 34, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at 12:28PM at Grand Strand Hospital after a courageous battle in the ICU. Despite his strength and determination, complications from a prior illness, aplastic anemia, and a recent cardiac arrest were too much for his body to overcome.

Born in Illinois, Chad was raised in Myrtle Beach from a young age and called it home for most of his life. He was a loving husband to Taylor Hansen and a devoted father to his two daughters, Chloe (10) and Emily (8), who were the light of his life. He was the beloved son of Angie and Brad Hansen, and a cherished brother to Tawnya of Illinois. He also leaves behind his nephews Caleb, Deven, and Bryan; his aunts Krista and Terra; and many others who loved him dearly.

Chad had a vibrant spirit and a magnetic personality. He was known for his hilarious sense of humor, his quick wit, and the kind of sarcasm that could make anyone laugh. He lived life as a true free spirit, embracing each day as it came. He often joked, “I’m just a Chad,” a phrase that perfectly captured his laid-back charm and unique character.

He had a deep love for nature, which he expressed through his passion for gardening and landscaping. Whether working with plants or spending time outdoors fishing, Chad found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His energy, silliness, and the love he shared with those around him will never be forgotten.

Chad’s legacy will live on through his family, especially in the hearts of Chloe and Emily, who will always remember their dad as the coolest, most loving, and devoted father.

A celebration of Chad’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Chad’s memory by spending time in nature or making someone laugh—just as he would have wanted.
