It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Camille (Morgia) Hanzalik. She passed away at 69 years old peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and lifelong best friend, after a brief illness.
Camille was born September 30, 1954 in Utica, NY to the late Joseph and Gloria Morgia. She graduated from T.R Proctor High school and pursued a career in hair styling for a number of years until she was blessed with 3 beautiful children. She then returned to work at the Utica City School and New Hartford School Districts. In 2004 she moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she worked many years in the Horry County School District. She was a devoted fan of the New York Rangers hockey team and rarely missed a game. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, best friend and cousin. She also loved the beach and you would find here there most days in the summer. She was always at her happiest with a cup of coffee in her hand and her grandchildren playing around her side. Camille was thoughtful, kind hearted and selfless. She always put the needs of others above her own.
She was married to her loving and faithful husband David Hanzalik Sr. on June 7, 1975, at St. Agnes Catholic Church for 49 devoted years.
She is survived by her husband David Hanzalik Sr., and her children, Melissa (James Pollard) Hanzalik, Michelle Hanzalik, David (Alisha) Hanzalik Jr.
She loved all of her children so much and through them became her greatest role of all being a grandmother to James Pollard Jr., Jayden Pollard, and Grayson Hanzalik. She also had such joy from her fur babies Tiko, Luke, and Rico.
She is also survived by her siblings with whom she had an unbreakable bond. Joseph (Michelle) Morgia Jr., Christine (Edward) Eck, and all of her nieces and nephews through them. She is also survived by her Soul Sister Joanne (Tom) Lafluer and her beloved sister-in-law Patricia Hanzalik
She was loved by all her friends, especially close friends Steve and Cindy Nicotera, Sandy and Fred Tedesco, and Geri Chiarello with whom she had a special bond. She is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, special cousins, godchildren, and many friends whom she loved as much as they loved her
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Gloria Morgia, her beautiful niece Deana Nicole Morgia, and many other family members throughout the years.
